SSY Calculator FAQ
Answers about how this calculator works.
Does this SSY calculator include interest after deposits stop?
No. It stops at the end of the deposit period you enter. Under the scheme the account keeps earning interest until maturity, so the real maturity value would be higher than this estimate.
What deposit period should I enter?
Deposits into an SSY account are made for 15 years, which is the default. To include the extra years of interest, you can project the result forward with the Compound Interest calculator.
What interest rate should I use?
Enter the currently notified SSY rate. Rates are reviewed periodically, so a long-term estimate is only a guide.
Does the calculator check the yearly deposit limit?
No. It accepts any amount, so check the current minimum and maximum yearly deposit before planning.
