Formula
Net annual = G - G × p / 100 - T; Net monthly = Net annual / 12
- G = gross annual salary
- p = PF deduction percentage
- T = estimated annual tax (you enter this)
Assumptions
- PF is calculated as a percentage of the full gross salary, not of basic pay; in practice EPF is usually 12% of basic plus DA, so this may overstate PF.
- Tax is not calculated here; it is the figure you enter. Use the Income Tax calculator to estimate it.
- Professional tax, employer contributions, gratuity and other deductions are not included.
- Net monthly is net annual divided equally by 12.
- Educational estimate only, not financial advice. Capitallytics does not execute transactions.
Salary Calculator FAQ
Answers about how this calculator works.
Is PF calculated on basic salary or gross salary here?
On gross salary. Because EPF is normally 12% of basic plus DA, you can enter a lower percentage to reflect your actual PF deduction.
Does this calculator compute my income tax?
No. Enter your estimated annual tax. You can get that figure from the Income Tax calculator for either regime.
Is professional tax deducted?
No. Add it to the tax field if you want it included in the take-home estimate.
Why is my payslip different?
Payslips include items this calculator ignores, such as professional tax, variable pay timing, reimbursements and TDS spread unevenly across months.
