Inflation Calculator FAQ
Answers about how this calculator works.
What inflation rate should I use?
Choose a rate that suits the expense. Education and healthcare often rise faster than general prices, so try a few rates.
How do I find what my money will be worth in future?
The future cost tells you how many rupees you will need to buy the same thing. Dividing today's amount by (1 + f)^t gives the purchasing power of today's money in future.
Does this use official inflation data?
No. It uses the single constant rate you enter, not CPI history or projections.
How does inflation affect my goals?
A goal priced in today's rupees will need more money later. Use the future cost as the target in the Savings Goal or SIP calculator.
