Assumptions
- Choose whether the amount you enter is exclusive of GST (GST is added) or inclusive of GST (GST is removed).
- The rate is whatever you enter (18% by default); GST slabs and HSN/SAC rates are not looked up, so confirm the applicable rate, ideally with a CA.
- The GST amount is not split into CGST, SGST or IGST and cess is not included.
- Results are not rounded to whole rupees.
- Educational estimate only, not financial advice. Capitallytics does not execute transactions.
GST Calculator FAQ
Answers about how this calculator works.
How do I remove GST from a price that already includes it?
Choose 'Inclusive of GST'. The calculator divides the amount by (1 + rate / 100) to find the base price, and the difference is the GST.
Which GST rate should I use?
Use the rate that applies to your product or service. The calculator does not look up rates, so check the current notified rate for your HSN or SAC code.
Does it show CGST and SGST separately?
No. It shows the total GST. For an intra-state sale it is normally split equally between CGST and SGST; for an inter-state sale it is IGST.
Is compensation cess included?
No. Only the single GST rate you enter is applied.
